Job Summary:
NEI relies upon an innovative, educated, experienced and well-organized staff to perform essential functions of the NEI program. A positive attitude, desire to work as efficiently as possible, attention to detail and excellent stakeholder-facing communication skills are required. The work is fast paced, demands quick thinking, solid decision making and changes rapidly. Document Control/SQF Auditor must make numerous far reaching decisions quickly and multitask without being overwhelmed. Continuous training and development are integral to this role as are flexibility and ability to engage with team as needed. This role holds leadership and reporting responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports SQF protocol as required; trained in SQF, SQF Auditing, HAACP, PCQI and able to lead documentation and audit preparation
- Maintains centralized records for SQF program; leads SQF program locally
- Understands SQF requirements and recognizes the role of local procedures in SQF documentation
- Records and analyzes data; designs and/or maintains data management, filing and storage system
- Engages in continuing education and team mentorship; stays abreast of SQF updates, market innovation, regulatory changes and industry trends
- Responds to communication from internal and external stakeholders by phone, on-line or in person as needed
- Produces meaningful and timely reports and communications using appropriate methods, materials and media
- Assists with audits and audit preparations
- Schedules and/or attends meetings as required
- Maintains appropriate level of materials required to perform tasks assigned
- Interacts with coworkers in a productive matter to achieve company outcomes
- Able to train and direct others on SQF and other processes
- Upholds and defends NEI image by strict adherence to quality, safety, NEI protocol to meet client specification
- Understands and able to assist in continuous improvement of established protocols such as Lab Policies and Procedures, Food Defense Plan, Food Safety Plan
- Follows instruction, engages in continuous improvement activities and analytical thinking
- Supports sales team with needed documentation
- Position reports to Senior Business Director
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2+ years’ work experience in a Lab or Quality Control setting preferred
- HSE minimum required. Associate or Bachelor’s, applicable certification/degree(s) preferred
- HACCP Certification required, PCQI preferred
- Innovative thinker; analytical skills, complex problem-solving abilities
- Strong leadership and Interpersonal communication skills; articulate- well-spoken and able to write APA or other technical style
- Detail oriented, pays extreme attention to detail
- Familiarity with Lab equipment, protocol, technology, research methods and Lab materials
- Experience with SQF, ISO or similar quality programs preferred
- Computer skills- Microsoft 365 and other
